How can a nation walk into its future when dark spots of its history remain hidden behind a smoke screen? The Indonesian national trauma of the 1965-66 massacres have never been resolved. An estimated one million people were killed, hundreds thousands more detained without trial. Until today, no justice has been done to the victims, the survivors still live under a stigma. The International People’s Tribunal 1965 aims to establish the truth based on the facts about the violence. It seeks recognition, rehabilitation and justice for the victims, ultimately leading to reconciliation.
